H I S T O R Y

Eri grew up with her younger sister Lenore in a relatively small town a few miles from Floran. Their parents were local agricultural farmers, and they lived fairly quietly together, the two siblings growing up close as sisters can be, even with a two year difference.

Eri never had a talent for magic, and ended up taking a bigger interest in archery, making her the odd one out in the magical classed family, as her sister turned Mage. Their parents favoured Lenore to a certain extent, having a preference for magic in general, and though Eri might have been a little bit bitter about this, she never showed it outwardly, as her father would take her out and watch her practice archery regularly.

That was, until their mother told their father, thinking she could trust him, a secret she'd been carrying around since they first met; she was a Messenger. Little did she know her husband, Eri's father, was a Pillar, and try as he might, he wasn't able to surpress the urge of wanting to off the other party for more than three years, when Eri was 18. Having done this, their father killed himself because he simply couldn't live with the guilt [or see his two daughters grow up to look/act so much like their mother] and left the two siblings to fend for themselves.

Not really knowing where to go, Eri took Lenore with her to see their maternal grandparents in Floran, who took them in and let them live above their flower/scented girly candles and soap shop, while they had their own home thing a few hundred meters away. Their grandparents are aging, and Eri finds herself picking up more and more responsibility around the shop, as well as fussing over her younger sister [if sometimes unwanted worrying]. But she doesn't complain, or really mind. It's what she has to do, and she wouldn't claim she doesn't like it.

Practicing archery whenever she has time, while also attending afternoon classes, Eri finds herself living in Floran without much worry. Or maybe these new journals will change that.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Eri has a strong sense of responsibility, and faces most challenges willingly because she feels she's obligated to, being the eldest. Might be a little overbearing with her sister sometimes, but catches herself before she can actually cause a rift in their relationship.

She can be spacey at times, but chooses not to acknowledge it if it's pointed out. She'd rather joke it away than be embarrassed about it, and keeps a cheerful disposition at most times.
